Just Food Co-op in beautiful Northfield, MN, is seeking a passionate and experienced full-time General Manager - GM to steer our cooperative toward growth and success while upholding our mission of providing sustainable, healthy, and locally sourced food. Located in the heart of picturesque Northfield, MN, our vibrant community offers a blend of historic charm, scenic landscapes, and a welcoming atmosphere, making it an ideal place to live and work.
We take care of our team with competitive pay ranging from $85,000 to $100,000 per year and an impressive benefits package. THE GROWTH YOU HELP PROVIDE AS A GENERAL MANAGER - GM
This position is located in Northfield, MN! Here, you'll enjoy an active and fun community, beautiful views, and great neighbors. Your schedule is typically Monday through Friday. However, flexibility is key—you’ll attend meetings and exciting store events outside of normal hours.
As our General Manager, you arrive at the co-op ready to dive into another dynamic day. You review the financial reports, ensuring profitability and sustainability, then meet with department managers to strategize improvements and discuss their needs. You collaborate with the board of directors, presenting updates on operational and workforce initiatives. Between meetings, you oversee staff development plans, ensuring a motivated and thriving team. Your day wraps up by engaging with community members and brainstorming innovative ways to enhance the co-op's services, knowing your work has a direct impact on the local community.

- Experience managing others with respect and appreciation
- Experience building and leading successful, high-performing teams
- Excellent collaborator, open to democratic processes and diverse perspectives
- Analytical skills to report on financial performance effectively
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs. and stand, walk, squat, sit, balance, and rotate body
- Ability to do repetitive office tasks for extended periods
- Experience managing in a retail food co-op
- Knowledge of current trends in the natural foods industry
- Excellent communication, negotiating, and problem-solving skills
- Adaptability and open-mindedness
